Description

As an increasing number of sexual offenses against children began to feature more frequently in the Chinese social media, more public attention has been given to an appropriate and effective sex education conducted outside public schools. Among different forms of children sexuality educations, the child sexual abuse prevention education has become the most favored. However, instead of challenging previous problematic sexuality programs, these new demands keep embracing former embedded rationales, and at the same time burdening mothers to take up this responsibility, which is another state exploitation of females’ labor. In this project, I am going to analyze the changed landscapes of sexuality in China, and the consequence of the neoliberalization of child sexual abuse prevention education, which on the one hand promotes the production of the sanitized children sexuality education, and on the other hand does more harm than good on reducing sexual assault cases.
