Abstract
This is the first comprehensive study on the sources and the practice of the rich and characteristic Florentine tradition of cantasi come. The accompanying CD-ROM provides a lot of information in research fields for titles of songs, poetic forms, poets, composers, sources to bibliographic information. This study examines the patterns and trends that emerge from the database concerning the creation, dissemination and representation of poetry and music in Florence in a period of almost 200 years.
