Book displays are a common and effective way to highlight print library resources. But, as our collections increasingly incorporate e-books, streaming films, and online databases, how can we make them more visible to library users? To address this challenge, staff in Access Services and Technical Services at the Dickinson College library collaborated to increase patron awareness of new and under-utilized electronic resources. In Spring 2015 we implemented a digital display of e-books and streaming films to complement the library’s existing “This Just In!” display. This fall we rolled out a new e-resources promotional plan, which will highlight selected new and under-utilized databases, using both print and online outreach tools. Our presentation describes our rationale and implementation of these plans, as well as our plans for assessing the effectiveness of these approaches.
