In her second novel, Trajinar de un Muerto (2001), Pagano uses an understated approach to further problematize the severely entrenched societal breakdowns associated with machista impulses that she portrays as prolonging widespread injustice, impunity, and lack of personal security in private and public spaces throughout Mexico.
